2009: 13 - 17 July 2009, Second Africa Chapter Conference held in Accra, Ghana at M Plaza Hotel.
2008: 4 December 2008, Chapter's By-Laws adopted by 100% votes following an online voting held from 1 - 3 December 2008.
2006: On 26 May 2006, the last day of the First IAALD Africa Chapter Conference (21 – 26 May 2006), held at the Hotel Intercontinental Nairobi, in Kenya, an Executive Committee was elected and the IAALD Africa Chapter was officially launched amid cheers and singing and dancing.
The ceremony was presided over by the IAALD President – Mr. Peter Ballantyne and his Executive committee.
2005: Inspired by the experiences of other regions e.g. USAIN, Eastern Europe, China and Japan, participants from Africa at the XIth World IAALD/USAIN Conference in Lexington, Kentucky, USA in May 2005 felt that the time was ripe to launch an African Chapter and tentatively agreed that a regional meeting for Africa take place in May 2006, in Kenya.
2000: Xth IAALD World Congress held in Dakar, Senegal in 2000. An interim working committee for the possible Africa Chapter was set up but did not have a lasting impact on the membership in Africa.
1955: The 1st World Congress on Founding of IAALD (International Association of Agricultural Information Specialist) was held in 1955, in Ghent, Belgium.
